HCCC Newsletter - October 7

Hi Members,

With the very slight changes in Alert Level 3 announced earlier this week we are now waiting on ACA and Sport NZ to hear how this affects Cricket in Auckland. At this stage trainings cannot go ahead but as soon as we hear more we will let you know.


Open Day Cancelled
We have sadly decided to cancel our Open Day scheduled for 17th October as we cannot be assured of the Alert Level allowing large numbers of people to gather together.

Superstar Cricket - Free this term
Thanks to Kookaburra, Superstar Cricket for all new and existing members is free for Term 4 2021. We are not sure when we will be able to start the sessions but however many we have, they will be free. Cricket Training
Cricket Training is again on hold until we move to a level where we can safely deliver trainings within the government guidelines.

New this season:
Youth Midweek Social Cricket U13-U16
Our new midweek social cricket for 13-16 year olds (yr 8 - yr 11) is aimed at those not wanting to play the more competitive Saturday grades but still want to hang out playing cricket with their mates, and for those that want a bit more cricket in their lives that isn't as competitive as the Saturday grades they play in. Games will be week about between Metro Park and Kaipara Flats (Warkworth).

Just $50 for the season starting Wednesday 3rd November.

Business House Cricket - Feb 2022
Interested in reliving your past glory days on the cricket field or just wanting to have some fun with mates?Business house cricket is coming to Hibiscus Coast in February on Wednesday nights.8 a side – 14 x 8 balls overs – maximum of 8 teams.

Changes to U17 Club Summer Series
Auckland Cricket has indicated that they are looking at changes to the U17 CSS. This could include a LO tournament also or a week of both LO and T20. We will keep you posted as we hear more.

Uniform Shop now open
New to the club?  Last years shirt too small?  Want training gear or a hoodie? This year you can order online – www.hibiscuscricket.co.nz/uniform-shopOnline ordering is available now until 15th October. We will notify you to arrange distribution once the product has arrived.Please note:

  • Prices are in Australian dollars and the kit will be delivered to the club for distribution approximately 1 week after the order date closes.
  • Superstar participants do not require uniform.

We will also open up ordering at various times throughout the season. 

Remember when you register with the club for the first time you will receive a free cap, replacement caps can be purchased from Cricket Express in Albany.

At this stage these are the season start dates. If these change we will let you know.

All Hardball grades (both junior and senior) start play on the weekend of Saturday 30th October
Youth Midweek Social Cricket - Wednesday 3rd November
Superstar skills and games - Friday 5th November
Club Summer Series U13 and U15 - Sunday 5th December
Club Summer Series U15 and U17 T20 tournaments - 18-20 January save date 21 Jan

We have started putting the junior teams together so if you are wanting to play and have not yet registered, do so asap.
